Installation and Maintenance of Peristaltic Pumps
As a common fluid conveying equipment, peristaltic pumps are widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, environmental protection and other fields. Correct installation of peristaltic pumps is the key to ensure their normal operation and extend their service life. This article will introduce the steps and precautions for installing peristaltic pumps in detail.
I. Installation and Piping
- Placement:The pump should be placed on a stable surface to minimize vibration and noise.
- Flexible Connection:A flexible or rigid short section (approximately 80-100 cm) should be installed between the pump's outlet flange and the pipeline to facilitate tubing replacement.
- Installation Height:The pump can be installed above the material level without the need for priming. However, the height difference should not exceed 20 meters.
- Viscosity and Particle Content:For media with high viscosity, many particles, or poor flowability, the pump is generally installed below the material.
- Piping:Minimize the number of elbows, especially right-angle elbows. The outlet pipe diameter can be the same as the tubing diameter, but for long pipelines with high viscosity, increase the outlet pipe diameter by 1.2-1.3 times.
- Check Valves:Do not install check valves at the pump inlet or outlet.
- Pressure Gauge:Install a pressure gauge at the pump outlet to monitor operation.
- Inlet and Outlet:The inlet and outlet are on the same side and can be interchanged based on piping and actual conditions.
- Electrical Installation:Equip with forward and reverse buttons for maintenance and cleaning.
II. Operation and Maintenance
- Tubing Replacement and Adjustment
- Replacement:Loosen and remove hose clamps, then remove the tubing. Insert the new tubing and secure it with clamps.
- Adjustment:Rotate the tubing 90 degrees every 200 hours to extend its lifespan.
- Roller Adjustment
- Adjust the eccentric distance of the rollers to achieve the desired flow rate.
- Lubrication
- Regularly lubricate side guide rollers and rotor bearings.
- Replace gearbox oil every six months.
- Tubing Storage and Protection
- Store tubing for no more than one year.
- If the pump is not used for a long time, rotate the pump at least once a month.
