A wooden, shaky bridge in a lot of games is simply it: a means to Elden Ring Runes cross an in-between space to reach the next objective. However, in Souls FromSoftware games, FromSoftware often utilizes these atmosphere-enhancing features to further deceive goals. This is the reason the moment that Elden Ring presented me with this kind of obstacle just short moments into my new adventure I couldn't help but hesitate.

Elden Ring opened with my character being awakened in a place known in the chapel of Anticipation. As I left the chapel I was able to walk across an elongated swath of rock that I assume sits somewhere higher than the game's map. I use the word "assume" because the area is so that it is obscured by a layer of fog that it's difficult to tell the terrain below. The place I was seemed very high to the point that any slip would result in fast, screamed death as I plummeted out of view.

After a quick jog I came across the bridge. A sad thing constructed of old, creaking wood swaying gently with the kind of robust air you'd expect from this height. Ropes linked it to stakes drilled deep into the stone, however something about the structure felt suspicious. Dangerous, even. But since the area that surrounds the Chapel of Anticipation was calm generally however, I had to ask myself: Did the bridge really emit bad vibes or was I just anticipating some of buy Elden Ring Runes FromSoftware's vile tricks?
